Production Process

Our rice bran extraction is a careful nine-step process:

Raw Material Pretreatment: Screening removes straw, stones, moldy particles, low-temperature hot air drying regulates moisture content, defatting is done by pressing or leaching, grinding to a particle size of 20-30 mesh improves extraction efficiency.

Alkaline Extraction: Ester bonds of cell walls are cleaved by dilute sodium hydroxide to release bound ferulic acid in free form; bran residue is separated by plate-and-frame filtration and mother liquid is collected.

Acidification & Precipitation: Bring to pH of acidity; free ferulic acid crystallizes; filter to produce moist crude crystals.

Crude washing and impurity removal: several purified water washes to remove salts, sugars, water soluble pigments and small molecule contaminants.

Solvent Recrystallization & Fractional Refining: Crude product dissolved in hot ethanol; activated carbon reflux eliminates colors; hot-filter and gradual cool crystallization. 98% grade needs single recrystallization; 99% grade requires serial recrystallization of ethanol gradient and adsorption of macroporous resin for thorough purification.

Dehydration & Low Temperature Vacuum Drying: Centrifuge to remove solvent; dry under vacuum <65°C, sheltered from light/air to avoid oxidation.

Cyclodextrin Inclusion Modification (custom): high-purity ferulic acid is dissolved in ethanol, and then mixed with β-cyclodextrin aqueous solution; molecular inclusion is completed by high-pressure homogenization; and spray-drying to get cold-water-soluble modified powder.

Sieving & Batch Mixing Crush and sieve to 80-100 or 200 mesh. Mix well in three-dimensional mixer for homogeneous content, color and particle size.

Packaging & Storage: Vacuum sealed lightproof aluminum foil bag + 25kg moisture-proof cardboard drum. Full content, physicochemical, heavy metal, microbiological testing before warehousing.

Q: Is your ferulic acid natural or synthetic? Do you have source traceability?

A: We have both. Rice bran, rice husk, angelica root, ferula root are found in nature. Synthetic: vanillin and malonic acid. We have batch records, raw material traceability and separate lines of manufacturing to avoid cross-contamination.

Q: Do you test heavy metals before production?

A: Yes. All source materials are inspected for heavy metals, pesticides and impurities before feeding. Unqualified batches are rejected outright, guaranteeing steady purity and consistent impurity profiles.

Q: What's the difference between 98% and 99%? Have you have water soluble kinds?

A: 98 % single recrystallization, economical for the general formula. 99% ultra-low impurities, numerous recrystallizations, suitable for premium goods. Our inclusion form of β-cyclodextrin provides outstanding solubility in cold water for clear serums and oral drinks.

Q: Why does my solution turn yellow over time?

A. The discolouration is due to oxidation or reaction with metal ions. Add chelating agents (Disodium EDTA for example), nitrogen blanket during manufacture and store in opaque airless container.

Q: What is the appropriate dose for topical formulations?

A: 0.51.0% in combination with 15% vitamin C and 1% vitamin E gives maximal synergistic protection.
